Year 10

Welcome to the Year 10 Hub!

Welcome to the Year 10 Information Hub - your go-to place for everything you need to know as you begin an exciting and important year at Miltoncross. Year 10 is a key stepping stone towards GCSE success, with students building confidence, independence and ambition across all subjects. Throughout the year, pupils will enjoy a broad and engaging curriculum alongside valuable enrichment opportunities, including Work Experience, which helps students explore future career pathways, develop employability skills and make real-world connections to their learning.

This hub will keep students and parents informed, supported and prepared, celebrating achievements and providing guidance every step of the way.

Work Experience 2026

Year 10 Work Experience – Overview

  • Work experience will run for one week, from Monday 18th May to Friday 22nd May.
  • All students will log on to the EBP website for the first time on Tuesday 3rd February. This will give them a chance to apply for already approved placements. This is on a first come first served basis.
  • Students may apply for an already approved placement or arrange their own placement. Students cannot apply for both. I advise that students start talking to employers now before we open up for applications.
  • Once a placement has been confirmed, students must arrange their own interview with the employer.
  • When applying for a placement, students should carefully consider how they will travel to and from the workplace, as some of the available placements are located outside the local area.
  • If students want to apply for their own placement, all forms can be found on the EBP website. I will attach a step to step guide.
  • Students are to be reminded that they might not secure the placement they might have hoped for but we want them to use this opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of working life.
