The canteen here at Miltoncross Academy is run by an external company, Chartwells, who provide catering for students during first break (11:05am) and second break (13:30pm) on a daily basis.
A Nut-Free School Community
At Miltoncross Academy, the safety, health, and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. We are a strictly nut-free school to protect several members of our community who live with severe, life-threatening nut allergies.
To ensure our school site remains a safe environment for everyone, we ask that no nut-based products are brought onto the school site at any time.
What to Avoid in Packed Lunches & Snacks
When preparing food for school, please carefully check ingredient labels and refrain from sending:
- Spreads: Peanut butter, Nutella, or other chocolate-nut spreads.
- Snacks: Bags of mixed nuts, peanuts, cashews, or fruit-and-nut mixes.
- Baked Goods: Cereal bars, granola bars, cakes, or biscuits containing nuts.

Allergic reactions can happen rapidly and severely through cross-contamination or shared spaces. Your vigilance and care when packing school food make a massive difference in keeping our classrooms safe and inclusive for all.
Please Note: This policy applies to all daily snacks and packed lunches, as well as food brought in for school trips, after-school clubs, and special events. Thank you for your cooperation!
