Christmas Appeal 2017

It’s that time of the year again! A merry time of listening to Christmas music and giving presents; but it’s also a time for being charitable. So, in the spirit of Christmas, every year Miltoncross Academy hold lots of festive events to help raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and Central Point (a local homeless charity).

Each tutor group make an impressive hamper and fill it with food, toiletries and clothes to give to the local homeless shelter. Winter is the hardest time of the year for the homeless, as it gets colder each night and room in the shelters starts to run out, the least we can do is provide food and clothes. Last year our school gathered enough food to feed the shelter for 5 months. If we can match that this year, we will make an incredible difference to a lot of people in our city.

To raise money for the Lord Mayors Charity, we hold a Christmas raffle, a cake sale, a lucky dip  and a sweet sale as well as all donating £1 to wear something Christmassy on Christmas Jumper Day.

This year we have achieved an outstanding £2034, which is nearly £800 more than last year!

We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all of our students, parents, staff and local businesses whose generosity grows every year and without whom our Christmas Appeal would not be possible.

We  hope everyone has a merry Christmas season!
